Registration in Belarus is obligatory for foreigners coming to the country for over 5 working days. Saturday, Sunday and state holidays aren’t working days. That’s why you can stay up to one week (5 working days + Saturday and Sunday) without registration. But you should remember that you will have to leave Belarus on the fifth working day otherwise you will be breaking the law.
In order to get the registration you must come to one of the Migration and Citizenship Departments with the accommodation provider. Don’t forget to take the necessary documents with you.

Since summer 2011 the real estate market in Belarus is under the financial crisis influence. The fall in demand and the price reduction in dollars for about 10% are nevertheless profitable for foreign investors. Today, foreigners can buy property in Belarus without any restrictions. To purchase a flat in Minsk you need only your passport and some minor documents.
